ULI JON ROTH: More SKY ACADEMY 2007 Details Revealed
January 31, 2007Uli Jon Roth's (ex-SCORPIONS) production manager Jeff Agins has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
After a successful weekend at the winter NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA it is clear that interest in Sky Academy 2007 is peaking both for students and guests. We are now accepting enrollment in the 2007 Sky Academy to take place August 22-26, 2007 at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. To register, please send an e-mail ([email protected]) with your name and address along with contact info.
How to apply for the seminar: Participants may apply by contacting Jeff Agins ([email protected]) or calling 480-734-1038. You will also be sent a questionnaire, which helps us to gauge certain things more accurately in advance. Please try to answer all the questions you feel comfortable with. Feel free to leave blank those which do not seem appropriate, or to which you don't have an answer.
Uli will personally determine the level of each participant during the Academy. There is no grading system in place, although this may change in the future. If you like you can send us a CD of your work or your playing. This will be helpful to assess a students' abilities and will assist in the process of selecting players for the "Super Jam" and the concert on the day before. The choice is purely at Uli's discretion.
A team of players whose musical judgment Uli trusts will pre-select the CDs and forward those to Uli directly who are the most promising. Exceptional students may be given slightly preferential treatment in the sense that more time may be spent on their teaching. But this is absolutely of benefit to all involved, because we learn a lot quicker in the presence of those who know more than we do as long as we are prepared to listen and learn from them. To show mutual respect also to less advanced students is of paramount importance. Everyone who is serious about learning should be made to feel welcome by all. There should be a sense of community and co-operation at Sky Academy.
